The Infoblox InfoRanks list provides the most popular second-level domains (SLDs) updated each day from an aggregated dataset based on DNS records from various data sources. The process used to determine the rank for each domain includes count information in combination with statistical inference techniques to accurately estimate all second-level domains' true ranks over time.

Viewing InfoRanks Records

To view the InfoRanks records, perform the following:

  1. From the Cloud Services Portal, click Research > Resources.
  2. On the Resources page, click Infoblox InfoRanks in the top menu. The following information is displayed:
    • Find Tool: You can search for a specific second-level domain within the InfoRanks list results by typing a second-level domain tool in the find/search field and then click Go. If the second-level domain is included in the InfoRanks list, then its record, along with its ranking, will be returned in the rank and domain results record. If the domain cannot be found in the InfoRanks search, then it means that the domain is not included as one of the second-level domains in the InfoRanks list and will not be displayed as a returned result.
    • Filtering: Clicking on the Rank or Domain column header filters the results in ascending order or descending order.
    • Downloaded Date: The date that the InfoRanks list was last updated. The date and time are displayed in UTC format. Data is recalculated every 7 days.
    • Rank: The current InfoRanks ranking for the domain.
    • IntervalThe top and bottom bracket of where this indicator historically will fall. For example, cbsnews.com will normally fall between 687 and 813. If a site suddenly became number 100 and its normally 10,000, then this should be considered an anomaly and investigated further.
    • Domain: The name of the domain displayed in the InfoRanks list.
  • No labels
