The BloxOne Endpoint icon is displayed in your systray (system tray) by default. You can configure to hide the icon during Endpoint installation or after the installation. At the time of installation of BloxOne Endpoint, if you do not want the systray icon to be displayed, you have the option of changing the default value for the endpoint systray icon from show to hide by modifying the systray_icon.txt file, included in the BloxOne Endpoint installation package. You can also hide the icon after the Endpoint installation.

Changing BloxOne Systray Icon State after Endpoint Installation

To change the systray icon state after BloxOne Endpoint has been installed, complete the following:

  1. Navigate to your BloxOne Endpoint folder on the system in which BloxOne Endpoint is installed.
  2. Click on the BloxOne Endpoint folder icon to reveal the contents of the folder.
  3. For macOS, go to the /Applications/Infoblox/BloxOne folder.
For Windows, go to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Infoblox\BloxOne Endpoint\ folder.
  4. Locate the infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler file in the folder. The infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler file is an executable file that you can run by clicking the file directly.
  5. Double click the infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler file to change the view state for the endpoint systray icon. For example, if the current view state for the endpoint systray icon is set to hide, double-clicking the infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler executable file will change the endpoint view state to show. Alternatively, if the endpoint systray icon is set to show, then double-clicking the infoblox_rc_icon_visibility_toggler executable file will change the endpoint view state to hide.
Note that this process may take 20 to 30 seconds to complete.
